So, what’s a HydroBlox?

Inventory | Posted on: April 20, 2021

Construction Junction has been stocking HydroBlox materials for four years now, but exactly what this product is and what the uses are may still be something that CJ shoppers are unfamiliar with. That’s why we’re here to help!

Made from recycled thermoplastics, the HydroBlox products are permanent solutions that do not clog, are easy to install and handle and require little to no maintenance. Other unique qualities are they are of high strength and are long lasting. Whether you are looking for a more efficient solution for drainage, water treatment, ground stabilization, retention/detention, or permeable paving, HydroBlox has a solution for you!

You can visit the HydroBlox website for more information. (All information here was taken from their website.)

HydroBlox Planks

Commonly known simply as HydroBlox, these planks are a permanent solution superior to traditional drainage, stabilization, and green infrastructure systems for a wide range of industries. The product’s high-void structure allows for a drainage capacity and structural stability greater than stone or pipe. Fast and easy to install, HydroPlanks use water pressure to redirect stormwater in any direction, without clogging.

When installed either vertically or horizontally, there is no need to connect the planks, however they do need to be touching. However, when additional stability or continuous surface area of HydroBlox plank is required, such as in creating a permeable pavement sub-base or a trafficking surface, connect the planks with landscape spikes. Extremely versatile, HydroPlanks can be retrofit to traditional drainage systems by connecting with a HydroBlox Transition Box

HydroBlox Stormwater Box

The management of stormwater runoff is a global challenge. Rain water landing on roof tops, yards, driveways, industrial sites, roads, etc., ends up in storm drains that ultimately drain into our streams, lakes, rivers and oceans. Sediment and harmful substances carried by stormwater runoff are damaging our environments and ecosystems. It’s a huge issue and challenge. Across the U.S. municipalities are increasingly enforcing NPDES, MS4 guidelines.

HydroBlox Noodles

The HydroBlox Noodles are a new take on an old problem. These are the same noodles that make up the planks but are not formed into a plank. The loose noodles are used in urban planters, as a replacement for soil in planters and as a permanent method of increasing the flow rate of water for difficult to drain soil mediums. HydroBlox noodles are used in hydroponics applications to create an extremely efficient, environmentally growth system.
